Cropredy Compere

You're a Cropredy Veteran at the very centre of the festival. You are my next-favourite compere after Ant-n'-Dec, and that's saying something. So tell us about what it's like to be at the sharp end.
* You're worst nightmare come true - what was it?
* The most memorable occasion?
* How did you get the role in the first place?
* How do you prepare?
* What luxuries and indulgences do the organisers have to provide in your dressing room, before you'll go on stage? (Are you a J-Lo kind of 'artiste' insisting on sandlewood candles, Kit-Kats, Krug and DVDs of 'You've Been Framed'? I suspect you are.)

Being at the sharp end means that you get to pitch your tent about 20 yards from backstage and still not having time to get to it.
My worst nightmare at Cropredy is having an artist who overruns.......nearly happened last year....i just set Nigel onto them and he pulls the plug.......hope it doesn't happen next year.
Most memorable occasion at Cropredy was playing there with Edward II and the crowd went mad.....what a gig.
I was approached by Peggy, who asked if i would like to do it.
How do i prepare.....well i have a couple of Mantra's that i use......no really i make sure that i know where my raincoat and boots are at all times.
The organisers provide me with exactly the same as every other artist...........a map to the bar!
