Hi Maart:
You have played with quite a diverse range of artists over the years, within the confines of rock/folk and all points in between.
If you could have your choice of working with any current/past bands or performers, who would you pick? Are there any new bands/performers you would particularly like to work with?
Cheers

Well the usual answer is Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush and Donal Lunny. Individually or collectively.
Also:
Fernhill Ian Hunter Pete Townshend Knut Reiersrud & Ivor Kleive Natalie Imbruglia
Lindisfarne would have been nice.
I'll probably be adding to this list as the month goes on...
People I'm really proud to have worked with: Robert Plant Roy Wood Richard Thompson BETH NIELSEN CHAPMAN Beverley Craven Jethro Tull Fairport Convention Kieran Halpin Ralph McTell Dan Ar Braz Yusuf Islam Chris While Gilly Darbey Sir Pete Zorn Sir Danny Thompson Keith Grant Maark Lee

You mention Pete Townshend. Is there anything particular about his work you admire? What Who song would you like to cover? I really enjoyed the bit at Cropredy when you "forgot" what Who introduction you were supposed to be playing, and so played several. Paul

Hi Paul
Is there anything in particular that I admire about Pete Townshend?
Yes, but only the things that he's been involved with while he's been alive. He is one of The Kings, along with Keef and Paul McCartney. When these guys leave us, it's all over...
Digression - I saw a letter in VIZ I think which said, "The bass player and drummer of the Who have gone to that great jam sesssion in the sky. The only living members of The Beatles are the bass player and drummer. Why don't they get together and call themselves The Hootles?"
Maark Lee at Blue Moon wants me to cover Behind Blue Eyes. I said OK as long as he produces it...
I already recorded North Country Girl from All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes (great album!).

I'd like to hear that. It would be better than limp biscuits version.

Limp Biskits did a version of Behind Blue Eyes, with a totally re-written middle 8. It was rubbish compared with The Who's.
