I'm at Cambridge festival - it's Saturday morning and I'm trying very hard not to have my morning coffee (because I'm told it tightens up your throat and I've got to sing in a couple of hours).
I just wanted to write and thank all those who bothered to vote for my 'folk singer of the year' award.
I'm not one for awards, it's got so little to do with music or anything that really matters but... when they come they are very touching.
The - not the BBC Folk awards - aspect is soooo important so keep bothering.

Many many thanks!

Chris Wood

Simon has just made me a coffee... what's a man to do.

A round of applause for our Folk Singer of the Year, Chris Wood, everyone:

A gentleman, a scholar, an engaging singer and performer, a distinguished songwriter and now a Old Hancockian.  Thank you for your kind words, dear Mr. Wood - now go out and give that Cambridge audience what-for!

A Big Up, a High Five, a curtsey (not from me, obviously - from our fragrant lady members!) and a handshake  from your admirers at Talkawhile.

He did! An absoutely wonderful performance on the main stage that made us feel very glad we had gone right down the front. And Karine joined him for 2 songs.

We love you Chris.   Grin
