Stewart Lee presents a new Radio 4 series about the counter culture. Episode 1 features contributions from Shirley Collins, Joe Boyd, and Brian Eno... https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002gqy5Jules

Intriguing - bound to be worth a listen. I'm tempted to question any of those as actually being part of the counter culture, although arguably they might once have been, I suppose.

I think he just chose to interview his favourite famous contacts of a certain age, tbh. They were all, at very least, witnesses. Jules

I'm always wary of another programme about the era. Rehash, oversimplify, generalise and basically tell us what we already know is the rule with these programmes. It's not a bad programme for that time of day, but so far, 5 minutes in, going for food shopping has proved more attractive.

I'm surprised if that's the case - Stewart is normally much more interesting than that. About everything. I'll see what I think sometime in the next few days...

Y know i may be just being old and grumpy. I hope it shapes up. Radio 4 is a lifeline for me sometimes and i do want the quality to hold. The documentary about hiroshima last week was very good.
