Title: RT in New Jersey
Post by: John From NJ on July 30, 2020, 03:57:04 PM
Covid 19 has cancelled most concert activity, but also led to a couple of unexpected socially-distanced appearances featuring New Jersey's adopted "local hero" Richard Thompson.  An esteemed local promoter refused to give up on his summer series and on July 15 presented Zara Phillips with RT(guitar) and David Mansfield(mandolin/violin) as her band.  You may find a video from this show on YouTube.  When Amy Helm had to cancel for the following week, Richard was asked if he would fill in, and after a rainout(on July 22) performed on July 25.  Perhaps people would be interested in this review(with setlist and videos) from the excellent NJARTS site, which really captures the spirit of the show; hope that this link works for you:   https://www.njarts.net/pop-rock/a-rare-treat-richard-thompson-at-woodbridge-high-school-review-setlist-videos/

Thanks for the link. Nice to see him playing in front of an audience instead of from his home.

I think it's a little bit too warm for a new sweater myself.

He's not much of a pullover wearer though is he? Not in public anyway. He's been known to wear a waistcoat.

Listening to his Still cd. Good album. He fair rocks out on No Peace, No End.
