Post by: davidmjs on January 03, 2019, 06:21:43 PM
Time to get wildly excited:

(and matinee gigs.  I'm all in favour of this new development).

Apparently nobody is interested, but you're all wrong  ;) ;D

Anyway, if anyone was thinking about it, might be good to get a move on.  From Dr SS Central: "Just heard from Café OTO - Tickets for our gig are selling briskly. They are about to post it on all their social media, as are our friends at Ace Records, so if you want to be sure of a ticket, don't delay!"

Oh and there's an Irish date too:

"Hi all
We have now got a confirmed Dublin gig and bookshop event on Thursday 11/4/19. There will be a bookshop event at The Gutter Bookshop, Cow's Lane, Temple Bar, Dublin with a short informal acoustic set, some short readings and book signing etc. This is free and will be from 2.00 – 2.30. The same evening there is a gig at the DC Music Club, 20 Camden Row,
Dublin 2. Doors 8.00 for an 8.30 start. It’s a small club so you need to reserve tickets and register via their website. 15 Euros in advance.

Who are they?

Irish psych folk band of the late '60s / early '70s.  Worth investigating if you like the ISB.

Yes they are like the ISB, aren’t they?
No need to investigate further  ;D

Just do me the honour of listening to this which doesn't really sound that much like the String Band at all (that's at least partially true)...and features (I think) one of the very best guitar solos by (a 17 year old) Gary Moore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDpPP54JuX0

Greatly looking forward to the gig a week today, if not the logistics of getting there from Llanelli. Anyway, the train is far too expensive and difficult (Arrrrrrrrrgggghh) so I'll be driving the length of the M4 and back on the day. Anyone want to join me en route and make it a bit more bearable (and cost effective for us both/all)? Drop me a message if you're interested 🙂

Have you thought of the Megabus?
