Title: AT2/The Boot
Post by: Peter H-K on October 19, 2015, 06:17:21 AM
I'm feeling in need of a bob or two, and seem to remember that copies of the CD AT2/The Boot have tended to sell on ebay for a moderately pretty penny. There are currently no copies for sale there, so I was wondering if anyone could remember how much it has gone for in the past. (I'm not as attached to CDs as physical objects as I used to be, so there's no real heartache involved in my ripping it and passing it one.)

Just search for it and tick "Completed Listings" under Advanced Search.

Oddly, still not showing up. Perhaps I dreamt it.

I checked too and found nothing, but folks have definitely sold them on there.  I know because I was after one for ages, and had to let a few go because I was outbid.  I finally got one though, but I can't recall what I paid.  Sorry.

www.popsike.com has a huge archive of past on-line auction values. Searching for AT2/The Boot shows only two results and nothing very recent. In 2007 a copy reached £113 and a year later another went for £67, both on ebay.

Thanks. Difficult to say, I suppose, whether it would have increased or decreased in that time. I'd be very happy with £113, but I'm not sure it seems a very fair price!

It seems astronomical to me.  I definitely paid way less than that!  More like about twenty, thirty quid.  I think I was lucky though.

There was a time when the cassettes used to sell for about £30 a pop.  Last time I saw a set they were on sale on discogs for not much more than a fiver.  I was lucky enough to find a CD set (the first one) in a charity shop for £4.50.  The Land of Grey and Pink in Chester had both CD sets for £25 each a couple of months back, but they sold very quickly indeed and the owner was kicking himself...

I got it on ebay.co.uk for about 100 pounds about five years ago.  I outbid someone here, probably Jules.   :)

I haven't seen it on ebay since, though I haven't really been looking.

Still looking for The Other Boot/The Third Leg on CD...

That should not be too difficult. I believe you can still find 'The Quiet Joys Of Brotherhood' set which is a repackage of The Other Boot/The Third Leg, and a bonus interview DVD with Simon & Peggy.

It doesn't include all of both the previous releases though, does it?

Don't think so.

Some time back Simon & Peggy gave permission for AT2/The Boot and The Other Boot/The Third Leg to be made available within this forum in mp3 format since they are no longer available as CD or cassette.

With their permission, therefore, should you like an mp3 version of either or both, email me.

It was the first Cropredy live souvenir recording.  First issued on a cassette.  AT2 is a pun on (19)82.

This was discussed here previously. Not counting any other versions that may be out there this should provide the missing track info. Unless one is a completest Quiet Joys is probably the safest bet to own a physical copy of much of the set (along with Andy's offer)

Just in case anybody is looking for an original of The Boot (on cassette), there is one currently on eBay (starting price of a tenner - it's not mine):
