Title: Daphnes Flight Mk II
Post by: Chris on January 14, 2007, 07:37:14 PM
I've just noticed from an advert for Hitchin Folk Club that While, While, Matthews, Collister & Watson are playing there on 25th February.

Anyone any news of any further gigs?

This gig isn't even mentioned on Christine's website.  In fact that only lists one London gig and carries the following message:

"I won’t see many of you in 2007 as I’m taking the year to develop 2 album/recording ideas, which I intend to keep you informed about as they happen …"

as far as I know, this is a one-off gig in Hitchin, celebrating Maureen`s (CIC of Hitchin Folk Club) 40 years of guiding a folk club through (musically) not easy times.
Sort of a personal Thank You, I guess, where the public has the pleasure to attend.
Pity I cannot make it, but to all of you going there, have a great time.

Yes, it's a special bill for Maureen - not officially billed as a Daphne's Flight gig (although it is almost the same personnel, 4/5 of it anyway), but I guess the artists will be appearing individually and in various permutations during the evening. But it's a ticket only event and is already sold out, so you'd be advised not to turn up if you don't already have a ticket (I have my ticket of course - sorry to be smug!)  :)

Will definitely try and get to one of these. I am tempted by the Isle of Man but will have to see how that fits with Big Session

It's the weekend after.....I'm likely to go to that one I think.

Worcester, Canterbury, London, Banbury & Didcot are all additional possibilities, plus Lichfield as that one might be the last for another long while.
