Just to let everyone know the website is now fully functional and online!  Tickets on general sale 23rd January (a week earlier if you're a friend of the Theatre) and we are fully expecting to sell-out again, plus we should have some exciting news about 2007 in the near future if you can get you're heads around that!!!!!!

visit it and be merry!

Why do tickets only go on general sale a week and a bit before the festival?  That doesn't give me long for my memory to creak into action, does it?  And I don't intend missing it under the circumstances!   ;D

Hmmm? Nick, it cuts it very close for those who have no means of paying online or by phone mate (in other words, have to do it by post with good old fashioned postal orders)

If they sell out before I get mine, I shall hold you personally responsible y'know ;) ;) ;D ;D

All valid points that I am also worried about (obviously not, not getting a ticket, that'd be stupid).

But it's basically the way The Theatre manage their box office and always have (season by season)... we're right at the start of a season so the booking period is very short.  At the moment it's easier and cheaper for them to do the box office and have all the credit cards and all that jazz...

I'll sort something, give me a few years and a degree out of the way!!!

Get people to book by post to you. You issue a receipt. You then book their tickets with the box office when booking opens. Leave their tickets for collection on the day.

Easy really.

Really enjoyed the Festival,
Whilst I didn't take part in the Ceilidh, it was gret fun to watch and listen to, Mr Gubbins Bicycle were very entertaining, and patient.
On Saturday, the line up flowed quite seamlessly from one band to the next, with good introductions from Nick.

Highlights of the afternoon for me were, Emma and The Professor and Spiers and Boden, but the whole set for the afternoon was very good.
The evening got off to a fantastic start with AGB (Andy Gutteridge), even sans bass player, they were firing on all cylinders. Closing the entertainment were Last Nights Fun, and they were the biggest highlight for me, the between song banter was funny, though maybe a little long for some people's taste, and the music was great whether original pieces or traditional.

Sunday brought two Morris sides, The Adderbury Village Morris Men and Ancient Men-OUMM... it goes without saying that both were great and hugely entertaing, the weekend wouldn't have been complete without them ;D

It's a real shame that there wasn't a bigger audience, and also that the Theatre didn't relax their 'no photography' rule for the duration of the Folk Festival.

The food in The Chequers pub was excellent and the natives were very friendly ;)   All in all I had a great time!!!

Thanks to all concerned :)

Mic

I second all of that.

Nick did a fantastic job organising and introducing.  It was a shame his hard work didn't sell more tickets, though.  I hope he isn't discouraged.  Everyone who went had a good time, I'm sure.
