It seems incredible to me that we only left Towersey a week ago, had a very hectic week and Towersey was extremely hectic. A truly fantastic festival, so much going on all the time, its difficult to choose what to do or who to see.  The activities are brilliant for the children, hardly saw Jack at all, he was up each morning before me to take part in his craft workshops and Dennis spent most of his time at the shooting roots workshops, culminating in a great show comprising of theatre, music and a ceildh.
Of the music i saw,  Show of Hands..awesome especially with Miranda Sykes.  Dr Faustus..everything I expected and better, great shame they are disbanding.  Tickled Pink..saw them twice and have been elevated to band of the year for me, great fun, great music very exciting,.. you've got a beautiful baby Simon. Whapweasel, another big sound big fun band,  and many many more.  Oh yes, Jack absolutly loved the Chipolatas, who allowed him and his friend backstage where they signed almost anything!!
The weather was great once we had got over Thursdays hail and thunderstorm.
Campsites very good, though the loo's not quite so good as Cropredy, not as many of them and no blue tardis's.  Showers free!! :D
Food stalls many and varied.
security, second to none.  Everywhere you went your name band was checked and I heard no reports of any trouble.
Altogether an excellant long festival weekend, which I will definatly be attending again next year along with Cropredy.
It was lovely meeting up with Issy and her very lively boys again, also Simon Frisby(still waitng to hear from you!) and the ubiquitous Chris!! ;D

P.S.    Dennis managed to persuade me to buy him a new acoustic guitar for his birthday/C******** present while we were there, so we don't have to go through the same palava as last year!! ;D

Just had news of some of next years line up which is as follows;

'We are thrilled to announce that the guest list will include performances from Blue Murder, combining the talents of Norma Waterson, Mike Waterson, Martin Carthy, Eliza Carthy
and acapella trio Coope, Boyes & Simpson.
Plus a Towersey debut from festival supergroup bellowhead.'

Looks brilliant!! :D

Quite right, Nuthouse - way off topic. Wrist slapped. Head hung low. Please forgive us. Its the Christmas spirit that has got to me.

Back on topic. Towersey is a great festival. Only place I have ever seen crowd surfing at a folk festival, but that was very late at night in the Club tent. Loads to do for adults and kids. Heartily recommend it.

No you misunderstand... I want to see the jumper - can you put a picture of it in The Arms ?

I reckon I have one to beat it though... whatever it's like.

Never been to Towersey though.... seems like I may have missed out

I haven't been to Towersey since I was a kiddie...  I do remember a very very high swing in the pub? garden.  If you were brave enough you could swing really high and see the whole village and countryside beyond.  And the morris dancer who broke his stick and gave the halves to me and my brother (we were angelic-looking then).  Good memories. :)

Not to forget the headless horseman.

Ellie congratulations. Didn't I just see you on the Spiers & Boden MB? Nice new pic. Been over to the Towersey site and found your name added, great about the award. Look forward to seeing you there, one of my favourite festivals.

Yep, that will have been me.

It's a bit scary, my first big festival but gives a good incentive to learn some new songs!
