Title: Your Ongoing Relationship Post by: Cocker Freeman on February 18, 2005, 02:01:19 PM Hi Mark,
We met at the Queen's Head, Maldon. I know you've worked with DH and produced loads of stuff since "50 Yards". How did you originally get involved with him and what's your favourite track? Title: Re: Your Ongoing Relationship Post by: Liam Schwilik on February 18, 2005, 09:15:45 PM Hi Cocker,
Yeh, it was great to meet you, nice pub too. I met David when he booked Woodworm’s for the Fifty yards session. We just hit it off really well. Both of us are into the same things musically and otherwise. (Other than football, that is). We both enjoy stirring things up musically, and pushing the bounds of acceptability on all musical levels. We love mixing genres and styles to form new and hopefully, exiting results. A continual learning curve really. My favourite track? Difficult one this, because I love most of them. I have the greatest respect for David’s ability to not only play the guitar that well, with his own distinct sound style and (guitarists) voice, but also his clever usage of language both historically and socially. All this backed by wicked grooves, mostly courtesy of the incredible Gerry Conway. It’s progressive folk that grooves you know? Each song of David’s has it’s own unique quality, always maintaining David’s ubiquitous trademark style. Grooves, passion, Irony, Satire – Of course, most importantly humour. We always have a good laugh making his records, which I feel is very important. We don’t take anything too seriously…other than the music and words that is!! In one, anything from Recognised! Mark |
