Title: New Forest 2025 Post by: colin h on July 08, 2025, 07:47:56 AM A great weekend had by all as it was a sell out. Great to see Ralph McTell and Rod Clements in fine form.
A few memories here. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqGHqimQWdADhNMa6Qi9LXA3hozUwRhgJ Title: Re: New Forest 2025 Post by: Will S on July 08, 2025, 10:24:58 AM I have seen various photos and reports from friends who went, and am now feeling very jealous of those who did go! A couple of friends who went for the first tiem are already saying they will definitley go next year, and I am very tempted too (thought the line-up doesn't look quite as good as the one this year - still there's enough there to keep me interested).
Title: Re: New Forest 2025 Post by: Poor Will (Bill) on July 08, 2025, 10:28:32 AM It was absolutely brilliant, as we have come to expect.
Next year’s lineup already known and tickets purchased! Title: Re: New Forest 2025 Post by: Andy on July 08, 2025, 12:18:34 PM If you are thinking of going next year, get your tickets asap, not only will they be cheaper than later on (if available) but, as Bill says, they're selling rapidly.
Title: Re: New Forest 2025 Post by: JJ (Joanna) on July 09, 2025, 08:56:53 PM I would love to go to this festival but I understand its not an easy one to go to via train and as a non camper accommodation is also an issue?
Title: Re: New Forest 2025 Post by: Tasha on July 10, 2025, 09:12:51 AM Romsey, is the nearest station and is six miles away. i understand there are few or no buses and people ive spoken to in the past have got taxis.
i think there is a pub called the boot inn or something nearby that people have stayed at? edit The shoe inn! Title: Re: New Forest 2025 Post by: William on July 15, 2025, 03:46:16 PM How are they able to sell out while other festivals are struggling? I guess that Nick knows his target audience. We all seem to tolerate the dreaded bag search as well, though I did catch a bit of an interesting conversation about a can of 0% Guiness. There were some nice ales in the beer tent but I felt that £6 a pint was a bit steep. It will be interesting to see what FolkEast are charging in their new venue this year.

Title: Re: New Forest 2025 Post by: Andy on July 16, 2025, 10:52:41 AM Our elder son was in that there Lunnon recently. Guinness was £10 a pint! In a pub!
Title: Re: New Forest 2025 Post by: William on July 17, 2025, 08:36:21 AM The four pint jug only really works if you have someone to share your particular favourite tipple or can manage to consume the whole lot in a realatively short period. As for the £10 Guiness - an extreme example of regional variation. Another example was the pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord that I had recently in a pub in the centre of Knaresborough - £2.50.
