Title: Little Johnny England Post by: Barry on November 01, 2005, 08:11:16 PM Hi Simon
I believe that you have a direct link with the song or the dance "Little Johnny England". Would you care to share it with us? Cheers Barry Title: Re: Little Johnny England Post by: Simon Care on November 01, 2005, 08:37:45 PM The direct link with Little Johnny England (the song/dance) is that it was a playground game that my mother played at school. She taught it to me and from that i decided to call the band Little Johnny England.
Yes, shock horror, revelation. Simon Care was a founding member of Little Johnny England. The original line-up that did two or three gigs was: Simon Care - box Gareth Turner - Box Ed Frost - Drums Fred Davies - (of Clippers fame) - Guitar and Nick Quarmby (Colvin/Quarmby) on bass. Now they don't tell you that on their website do they!!!!!!!!!!! simon Title: Re: Little Johnny England Post by: leahdon (Donna) on November 10, 2005, 08:12:42 PM The direct link with Little Johnny England (the song/dance) is that it was a playground game that my mother played at school. I always thought I went to their very first gig at Banbury, supporting the PBB, with Tom Leary on fiddle. I didn't realise that was the second version of the band. LJE did at least three gigs before Tom Leary and others Simon Title: Re: Little Johnny England Post by: Polly Oxford (Andie) on November 15, 2005, 01:42:54 PM I can't remember where the first LJE gig I went to was, a good while ago but not the original line-up, but I definately remember Gareth giving credit to Simon, because that was when I made the link to EII and a lot of bits fell into place...
Wish they were coming out to our direction again. Title: Re: Little Johnny England Post by: Chris on November 20, 2005, 01:46:24 PM I think they'll be gigging again before too long....
