Long strange trips are good...

« Reply #140 on: October 29, 2007, 12:00:29 AM »

Hello

I'm well new to all this virtual business, but have happy real time memories of Dudley Town Hall about a decade ago; sadly this time I've generated a spare ticket (£12.50 choir seats!) as my wife isn't able to travel - I understand the gig is sold out, so if anyone wants a last minute treat, I'm only too happy to make it available to TAW at a tenner or so...

I have a couple of spare tickets (Row E) for the birthday do. Could hand them over outside the venue for face value (£17). IM me if interested.

Might you be interested if I were only looking for a single ticket? (sorry, the person doesn't want to sit behind the stage)

In case anyone is planning to use the Chiltern Line trains to get into B'ham from the South I would recommend checking they are running as I know there have been closures on saturdays recently.

The only suggestion I've noticed is Chris's

... the Wetherspoons pub just at the back of the Town Hall has a Real Ale festival on at the moment. It's less than 5 minutes from the front door. The drinks in the Hall are very pricey...London theatre standard!

We can arrange the post-gig curry at the pre-gig pub meet.

How about from 09:00 (or whenever the first person arrives) on at what appears to be the very closest Wetherspoons (there are half a dozen within half a mile):
Wetherspoons
Unit 31, Paradise Place

I've checked the Chiltern Line timetable and it appears that there is normal service on Saturday but a reduced timetable on Sunday.

Changes to Train Times: Sunday 4 November
Kidderminster - Birmingham - Stratford-upon-Avon - Leamington Spa - Banbury - High Wycombe - London

London Marylebone-Birmingham Snow Hill services will be reduced to an hourly frequency and diverted to Birmingham New Street.

An hourly London Marylebone-Warwick Parkway service will also operate, with connecting buses operating between Warwick Parkway, Dorridge, Solihull and Birmingham Snow Hill. These buses are unable to call at Birmingham Moor Street.

Buses replace trains between Warwick Parkway and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Buses replace trains between West Ruislip and London Marylebone until 1000.

Passengers are strongly advised to check journey times before travelling.

Aylesbury - Amersham - London

There will be no trains between Amersham and London Marylebone until 0950. Please use London Underground's Metropolitan line between Amersham and Baker Street.

I have a single ticket available, row A of the circle, at face value (£17.50).  If you're interested, get in touch (01952 728283) and we can sort the exchange at the venue.  I'll be there but not in the audience!

Crowne Plaza for me. I booked early (8-).
Just had a small panic because I couldn't remember the name of the hotel.

Sorry to butt in here, but I'd just like to wish all who are going a BLEDDY MARVELLOUS TIME!  Wish I could go too, but stuff doesn't always work out the way one would like (if it did, one would be a right spoiled git!)

Reviews toute suite (if not sooner) please!! Smiley
