I e-mailed the Fairport office regarding my difficulties with purchasing online and today received a reply from that very nice man, Mr Gareth Williams.

All sorted out now  Grin  Tiara

I spoke to Peggy last night for a magazine I'm associated with and he sounds really excited, and chuffed to bits with the sound of the music, the tracklisting and the artwork, so I think we're going to be in for a real treat!! and I have the tracklisting as well....lol

Finally did the negotiating with "himself who holds the purse strings" and ordered mine last night.  Not sure if I'm going to get the bonus CD and/or name on booklet, but I really don't mind either way.

Now, where's the book on whether it'll be out in time for Cropredy?

I think there will be extreme knashing of teeth if not.....but art Cropredy before the shops. I reckon that was always the idea though - maximise the profits.

I have just come back from Peggy's house and I had a sneak preview of a couple of tracks from his box set.  Wow we are all in for a treat.  I heard Jams O'Donnells Jig played by Jethro Tull with some blistering guitar playing by Martin Barre, and a song by the Ian Campbell Folk Group recorded in a Folk Club in 1966.  The sound quality on both was excellent.  Because Peggy has played with so many people, this box set is going to different from the others in that there is so much variety.  He also mentioned that the cut off date to get your name in the booklet is a week today (Thurs).  So all I will say is if you are thinking of buying it or have already done so I don't think you'll be dissappointed, it really is going to be great.

You'll probably get your name in the book, but the 1st 500 got the CD. Those who order it will get it 'early August in time for Cropredy' but the shop release date is August 27. More info here

Which states..."The best news is that we are giving those of you who wish to take advantage of the bonus CD and a 'Thank you' namecheck in the booklet another 2 weeks to purchase your copy. The closing date for the bonus CD offer is now June 14."

Well, as we (the great unwashed) don't know what the CDs are yet, I think it's unlikely that we'll know what the bonus CD is either?   Wink

One is being asked to take pot luck.....to fund the production, for which you are likely to be justly rewarded.

If you choose not to, please don't ask for a copy afterwards....
