Lovely lady and vital part of the 'Woodworm Era', both as the landlady of The George and later organising the office.

Thanks Colin.  I like the idea of the Signature bass.

Very sad news.
One thing about the bass, though - if it is sold on eBay only one lucky bidder gets to contribute a generous sum to Katherine House, yet I'm sure many who bid would be happy to part with their cash in such a good cause. I shall buy extra raffle tickets next year or when I next go to Cropredy,  because I can be sure I won't have enough to compete for the bass!

Oh, that IS sad news... my thoughts are with her family and friends.

As some of you may remember, I won a uke signed by Fairport in the raffle at Cropredy 2013; I've not really tried too hard to learn to play it, so I shall donate it back to Katherine House, together with the tutor book and assorted plectra etc for them to re-raffle - at Cropredy 2015 maybe?

(I don't think I'd be able to afford to bid any great amount for the signature bass... but I'd certainly buy a bunch of raffle tix for it, if that turned out to be the best way for Peggy to raise some funds).
