I prefer the Maart-era Matty.
But as that won't happen I'd settle for something new. Hip hop, punk I don't really mind as long as it doesn't go on for too long.

For me, they've never beaten the 1969 arrangement. And seeing the band do it that was on the Friday at the 2007 Cropredy was pure magic for me.

Shepherd's Bush version was Feb 12 1995 - very Maart era - some b*****gs list it as Jan 22 (which is my birthday, I was a bit peed off to find it wasn't from that date).

I know that some day they will have to do Matty Groves in a Dengie hip-hop style....
Hmm - not sure about hip hop - but could live with a retro grunge version............. Gangsta rap's the way forward. And the screen animation could feature Lady Whatsername as the beeyatch of the local Mr Big. REferring to fine beaten swords as opposed to sawn-off shotguns might be a hurdle but Baz Luhrmann dealt with it ok in Romeo and Juliet. |
