Fans on the RT email list are auctioning one of these banners....

In honour of Richard Thompson being named curator of the 2010 Meltdown Festival, four long banners were created to hang in front of London's Southbank Centre during May and June of this year. Two of the banners will be kept in the SBC archives, while two others were reserved for auctions to benefit two of Richard Thompson's favorite organisations.

In the September auction, handled by Richard Thompson’s management, one banner was auctioned for US$570 to benefit the Organization for Tropical Studies.

The second banner is being auctioned by Richard’s fans. 100% of the proceeds from this auction will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust (http://www.cftrust.org.uk/).

Clean and in perfect condition, the banner is 9' x 2'8" (2.75 x 0.8 metres), made of vinyl, with two metal eyeholes on each end. It weighs approximately 6 lb (2.7 kg). It ships in a heavy cardboard tube, fully insured.

FREE shipping within the UK; buyer pays shipping to other locations.

To bid, please send an e-mail to rtbannerauction@gmail.com.

--Subject line should read “BANNER AUCTION.”

--Include your bid (in UK POUNDS STERLING), your name, the location to which the banner would be shipped (city and country), and your e-mail address.

Auction will end MONDAY, 18 October, at 11:00 p.m. London time. The highest bidder will be notified and told where and how to send payment.

Good luck!
