Title: A suprise set list for 2007....
Post by: Sir Martin on October 13, 2006, 10:59:18 AM
I apologise if this has been done before - but I was thinking the other day....

Fairport are one of the few bands that have a plethora of great songs that have not been played live for years, if at all.
So why not suprise the audience with a 'bet you've never heard this before' set?

Starters for ten....

Polly on the Shore
Bonny Bunch of Roses
Honour and Praise*
John the Gun
Travelling by Steam

*I can remember them doing this - but it was a while ago.

A huge number of song candidates here but wouldn't the best surprise of the lot be Swarb singing again? - absolutely anything would do.

A nice idea, but Maart said some time ago that Swarbs tracheotomy will prevent him singing on stage again.

Now thats a real pity - I love the tone of Swarbs voice. A week or so ago I played the boxed set all the way through, and the songs that really stood out were where he was singing.

The Time is Near
A Surfeit of Lampreys
Stranger to Himself
Bankruptured
Big William
Orange Blossom Special
Spanish Main
Summer in December
The Lobster (!)
