Exciting news from Ian and Stephanie at Musikfolk:

"Fairport Convention, Alan Simon, Roger Hodgson etc - Excalibur - DVD - we are in the middle of negotiating to import stock from France.  More details to follow."

I didn't even know that it was available as a DVD.  Last time I e-mailed Alan Simon he said that there were no plans to release it in this format.

(Currently listed on Amazon France at €19.99)

Edit: Two separate posts about the Excaliber DVD at the same time. I've merged them into one... Cheers Nick

Er, pardon my ignorance: Excalibur DVD?
French concept album/concerts/live album/video featuring a host of well known French and breton musicians along with Roger Hodgeson, Jaquie McShee and Fairport.
This was filmed in Rennes in 1999.

I was at the Rennes gig and subsequently saw the show in Paris, Quimper and Malicorn. I have it on VHS but the DVD sounds an absolute bargin. I'm off to the FNAC website to buy it now!

I was in Quimper as well. It was a great show. Did you see the festival in the streets the next day? What a fantastic atmosphere in the city.

I bought it in Sonothèque in Brest for €19.99.
Have just watched it again. It's also nice because it comes with the live CD.
And Alan Simon has a nice French accent...

There is a FNAC in Brest. It is in espace jaures and not very big.
I tried finding the DVD in there but it's just so confusing. Why can't they have DVDs separate from CDs???
