Title: Ruth Notman covers 'Si Tu Dois Partir'
Post by: Philip W on July 11, 2009, 06:03:33 PM
Everyone seems to be getting the anniversary bug (well, better that than swine flu)…

I hear that Ruth Notman is releasing her version of ‘Si Tu Dois Partir’ forty years to the day since Fairport’s version charted (27 July).

‘Already very well received by 2 of the original Fairport line up from the 69 version.
“It’s smashing; everyone has done a great job” — Ashley Hutchings
“Excellent, smiley and joyful” — Simon Nicol’

I think she would be a great support act for the Winter Tour.

She's got a lovely version of Farewell, Farewell on her debut album.

I second that, Katy's Mum!  She's a great singer!  If I ever need cheering up I put "Heather Down the Moor" on repeat until I've snapped out of the sulks!  Works every time :)
