Hi Team

Fairport Convention and their Management have kindly donated Tickets 000001 and 000002 for Fairport's Cropredy Convention 2008 to the Adderbury Party in the Park committee to auction off in order to raise funds for the Adderbury annual fundraising music festival which is staged on Saturday July 12th this year.

We'll even throw in a Cropredy programme signed by Fairport Convention (available for collection over the festival weekend) and a Limited Edition Fairport's Cropredy Festival Car Sticker to the winning bidder.

The tickets are currently being held under lock and key with a round the clock security presence by Gareth and the boys at their modern, high-tech offices. It is FAIRPORT CONVENTION who have kindly made this donation for our benefit and who fully endorse this auction (visit www.FairportConvention.com for more information, but give them a chance to update their website!!!). Indeed, it was the boys of Fairport Convention themselves who suggested the idea of auctioning off these sought after tickets for our benefit!

You can access the lot, available on http://www.eBay.co.uk (mainly for logistical reasons but also for maximum exposure) by searching for Item 280227659189 or by clicking this link: -
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280227659189&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dm37%26satitle%3D280227659189%26fvi%3D1

We’d like to say a big thank you to Gareth, Simon, Peggy, Ric, Chris, Gerry and the entire 'Backroom Team' of Fairport Convention for their continued support, advice and encouragement, and hope to see you at the Cropredy Festival as well as at the Adderbury Party in the Park Festival on July 12th in Adderbury, Oxfordshire.

Any questions, just shout...I hope that it's of interest and that you can help us all raise funds for the Hospice in Adderbury as well as other charitable village causes.

Thanks

Can I make a suggestion?  It might be best to try and get 'Fairport Convention' into the title somewhere.  As it is somebody doing an eBay search for the full band name won't , at least not directly, come across it.....

e.g.

Fairport Convention's Cropredy Festival tickets 1 & 2

instead of

Fairport's Cropredy Festival Tickets 000001 and 000002

Just a thought anyway...

I think that's a good idea. UNfortunately it'll let me change everything BUT the Title or Subtitle...shame, and sod's law!

Oh well...it will take a few hours to register on eBay searches, and when it does Fairport and Cropredy will bring it up to anyone looking I guess. We'll be publicising the Item Number in local press etc so folk can go straight to it.

Thanks for the suggestions though...

Just to let y'all know Gareth has now kindly included a backstage / stage tour at some point over the Cropredy festival to this charitable lot, on top of the tickets numbers 1 & 2, camping pass, car sticker and signed programme already offered (see the FC website for more details).

Chris, I have every sympathy with this auction, but most people here who are going to Cropredy have like me, already bought their tickets. I don't need any more than I have, so I won't be bidding, no matter how good a cause it is. If the auction were to be held next year, I'd make it before tickets are generally available.

If Fairport had used their emailing list to publicise this there might have been a greater response. However, as far as I know, they haven't. If they have, I didn't get that email.

I guess £225-odd is better than nowt for the cause.

YHou've donea survey, have you?

Even if I'm appealing to one member here, surely it's worth mentioning?

Especially as the auction is about to close?

Similarly, I already had all the tickets I need, I only placed the initial bid to get things started knowing full well that I would be outbid.  It'll go for what it goes for, if I may speculate I reckon around £300, though I hope I'm wrong and it fetches more.

Got to agree that if it's repeated in future it'd be best to do it prior to normal sales, I'm sure lots here would like the opporttunity of a back stage tour.

Of course it's worthwhile mentioning here, Chris. Anyone wanting to go to Cropredy 2008 who doesn't have a ticket, please bid now.
