I read a rather more realistic interview with Peter once in Beat Instrumental. I can't remember much of it, but two things I do remember. Peter lost his fiddle off the back of his motorbike on the way to the interview, and they once dressed as rockers for a Steeleye encore, and the bouncers wouldn't let Peter on the stage, because they thought he was a real rocker trying to storm the stage.

Following an unexpected house move, I've been clearing out some of the stuff hoarded at my Mum's house to make room for mine. I've just discovered the poster and programme from the very first time I saw Steeleye. Fairfield Halls 1974; support Richard Digance. I remember being very excited .... the band opening with 'The Ups and Downs' and the performance of the mummer's play. Happy days!

 :) :) [;-)
