Title: Chris Leslie to play solo at Farnsfield
Post by: Amethyst (Jenny) on October 07, 2014, 02:32:01 PM
Chris Leslie to play solo at Farnsfield Acoustic
(Nottinghamshire)
No, not the Nottingham MP (though he would be very welcome to join us!).
Multi instrumental musician, singer, writer of many songs, Chris will open our new season at Farnsfield Acoustic on Saturday 25th October. He is a veteran of many folk and folk rock bands, including the fabulous and much missed Whippersnapper and the Albion Band. Currently Chris tours each year with Feast of Fiddles, and St Agnes Fountain as well as being a long standing member of Fairport.  Chris spent three years at the Newark Violin making school in the 1980s, so it is a return to well-known ground for him. Even though he plays two nights for us each December he will be solo at this gig, expect a night of magic!
Tix £12 from 01623 794700 and 870668

Spent 'An Evening with Chris Leslie' at Nettlebed last Monday. Nice mix of chat and songs, some from the solo cd, a brilliant acoustic Already There and a new song (with Swans in the title) which had an Indian backing track.......sounds odd but really effective. Lovely way to spend an evening and we're booked to do it again, although sadly not at  Farnsfield as we're already committed to Urban Folk the night before.

And as a bonus had a chat afterwards with Simon Mayer (one of my heroes) and Hilary James.....
