Anyone know what happened to the Tommy Connolly Dancers? I can't find any mention of them on the web. At the time 'Festival Folk' was published in 2005 I was approached by someone wanting photos of their Cropredy peformances from certain years, but the contact did not progress. Have they folded?

They were from Coventry actually. I will check with some of my Irish acquaintances around the city and see if I can find out what happened to them.

They dance every year at the Kenilworth Carnival so the committee there must have contact details Grin

This may be a red herring in that the organisers can't spell, but on this year's website it says -

Quote
3.20 pm TOMMY CONNELLY IRISH DANCERS
We missed them last year because of the weather, so we are greatly looking forward to the return of these talented youngsters in their colourful costumes

So maybe he spells his surname that way?

Thank you all contributors for the information. I have tried googling various spellings of the name and come up with nothing. It seems strange in these modern times that there would be nothing at all on the internet if it were a current active organisation. I suspect it really has folded. I'll just retain my photos in the 'Festival Folk' archive. Cheers All.
