I've got a real problem with this piece of guff from their PR...

"ahab are a singer songwriter collective who formed in July 2009 after being invited to play the annual ‘Fanfare’ festival in Nashville, Tennessee."

No one gets invited to play a festival befotre the group even existed!

Why don't you just get it off your chest Chris, and say that you're suspicious of those ahab boys?  Undecided

Not suspicious at all.....just find the PR a bit over-blown.

Surely it's traditional to wait until an act has had some success before giving them a hard time?

I think Ahab have worked extremely hard to achieve the modest recognition that they have so far.
I saw them last week in a freezing cold marquee at the Brasenose playing to fifty or so people plugging their new EP. I came away thinking fair play chaps!

It's early days,it may not work. There are a lot of new bands that stand around on the sidelines saying things like "it's alright for you" whist doing just that, standing around!

As for "overblown press". So what? Noone ever got radio play on the back of a biog alone.

Good lads, good work ethic, not entirely my sort of thing but if they do manage to take it anywhere they'll have deserved to do so in my humble opinion. Smiley

I believe there is already an ahab tribute band.  They're called Re-hab.

Actually that's not true.  It just amused me to think of it.

Isn't that what PR is? I can't remember ever putting out a press release for a project saying, "It's OK, but not that great."
