Incredibly difficult choice but I think I'd go for sailor's life - it has a bit of everything. Wonderful vocals from Sandy and great electric guitar sections from Simon and RT and Swarb's fiddle. Just tremendous.

What We Did On Our Holidays was the first FC album I listened to and Nottamun Town is the track that really knocked me for six and opened the door to a new genre of music (new to me at any rate - this was late 1980s).

Meet on the Ledge - familiarity may reduce its impact, but I really love the Holidays version. It was the second Fairport album I heard in 1987/8, and the track totally blew me away.

In what way? Matty is a perfectly legitimate choice. Using Matty was more like a fave Cropredy moment than a particular song, that's all. Just happens to be from the right era. |
