Title: Songbook
Post by: Banger on February 22, 2008, 06:24:45 PM
Has a Fairport Convention song book ever been published?

If the answer is yes - does anyone now where I could get one?

Songbook 1 vol.2 is avaliable from Maart's website - http://www.maartinallcock.com/. He also did a Songbook 2, but that's out of print. Have a look on evilBay for that one.

There were also a few published in the 70s. I have one of the originals.

They also occasionally come up on EBay.

They had one of the Fairport songbooks (and the Sandy one) on the merch desk at the gig at the Marlowe the other day.  Nowhere near enough money at the time, but I'm hoping there'll be some left at the Birmingham show...

Thanks BB - very helpful. Have had a look at the book on Maarts website, its very comprehensive (57 songs). Unfortunately, its a bit expensive so I'll have to ask Santa for it. I think it goes without saying that with his grey beard and rotund figure, he's bound to be a Fairport fan. :D
