I know I am 16 pages (not Jimmy but Hey!) late and I can't be bothered to read them all so if i am duplicating i apologise but Billy Bragg, Dick Gaughan and Rot Harper would make a good left side. I would avoid Chumbawumba at all cost cos the are (at least one) Nutters!

if i'm to go then i wat a fair bit of rock
something with a bit of zing, crowd pleasers, a good show and no prog(remember Moistly Awful)
dr feelgood and cheap trick would be nice you can have a couple of folkies in order to get to the bogs and the bar
i wouldnt mind a bit of bluegrass though , how about the Del McCoury band or is it the bluegrass season in the states about that time?
feeder are good, they would do a decent turn

I thought Shameless Quo were great as the Friday openers this year, so on a similar theme how about getting the fantastic Limehouse Lizzy to kick-off Friday's proceedings. (They even 'do' a slightly folkie song in 'Black Rose'). |

I've just recovered from the Ross Cider Festval. One of the bands they had was The Blackfoots - an English version of Hayseed Dixie. I thought they were great - but had already had one or two ciders by then Great versions of Don't Cha by the Pussycat Dolls & Pretty Vacant by the Sex Pistols. Have a look at http://www.theblackfoots.co.uk/An idea for the "novelty act" spot?? Probably cheaper than Hayseed Dixie as well!! |
