I´d love to have comments and reviews from TAW:ers going to the gigs of the chaps´ Scandinavian trip.
On Saturday I´m watching them in Gothenburgh, hope to hear from people in Malmö -tonight- and Stockholm- tomorrow- what to expect!  Wink

Fairport had played both Malmö and Stockholm when they came to Gothenburgh, but I couldn 't find any review in any Malmö/Stockholm newspaper. Tonightś gig was located in a tight, basement club, where the acts usually come from the jazz or world music sphere. The surroundigs seemed toinspire the chaps who came on and played with vigour. The setlist (see below) was very much to my liking; a very good balance between old gems and newer, very strong songs. I must say I haven been as pleased with a Fairport setlist for many years!
The playing was great, the vocals as well, stage banter very pleasing and on the whole a very good performance from th boys. But it wasn't, as I thought/guessed, an acoustic set, this was electric all way through. The sound was overall very good, although Simon's (semi-acoustic ?) guitar had e tendencay to disappear in the sound  picture sometimes.
But overall: I left the club with a huge smile on my face, having attended the best Fairport gig for some years including the after-show chat, signing andcheering!
Set list:
Sir Patrick Spens
Honour & Praise
Albert & Ted
Fotheringay
Cape Horn
Doctor of Physics
Cell song
Wood & Wire
John Gaudie
--------
Walk Awhile
Mercy Bay
Farewell, farewell
Fsetival bell
Banks of Sweet Primroses
Who Knows...
Danny Jacks Reward
Matty
----
Meet on The Ledge

Best comment: "We're more metal than Sabbath" (Peggy on the bell....)
