Really ? Darnitt. That's almost as bad as me going to my local rock club which had a band on called Packet Of Three. I'd never heard of them, so I went at sat in my usual corner and zoned the band out as background music. When they finished, I remarked how, at times, the singer in the band sound like one of my all time favourites - Steve Marriott. 'Er,'...said my mate...'That WAS Steve Marriott.' Fabulous. I missed a gig I was at.  I saw Packet of Three (I'm pretty certain they were billed as SM's Packet of Three actually) c.'84 in Chichester of all places. I could try and remember it fondly, but in truth it was pretty awful. Steve was not in a good way. |

Dementia, sadly, it seems. His death comes 4 weeks after his brother, George, guitarist for the Easybeats and AC/DC producer, died at age 70.

This morning I was sorting through CDs and had a sudden urge to put on Back in Black at the appropriate volume. 20 minutes later I look at the news to see this. RIP Malcolm.

For those of us who play guitar and are not lead guitarists, the likes of Malcolm were an inspiration. That was the genius of his and Angus' songwriting that alot of the riffs were easy to play along to, not that I'm even half as good a rhythm guitarist as Malcolm was but they never over-complicated things, at least not on the AC/DC albums I own. I'm sure many an air guitar will be strummed in his honour tonight.
You've got to feel for Angus and the rest of the family losing the two brothers in such a short space of time.
