Photos I saw seemed to suggest he'd lost a ton of weight - I'm hoping that is all planned.  Must be fit as **** to be doing these high energy shows at (checks) 74+

Bruce is in that list of artists I really wish I got/enjoyed.  He seems likeable and interesting and pretty sound (although loses lots of Brownie points for the ticket pricing this time around).  Seeger sessions is the only material I've really enjoyed though, sadly.

They didn't play 'Gaudete' on the last two gigs I saw them do. That sounds like a great set. Their version of 'Shipbuilding' is really good. It's included on The Green Man Collection. The only one I'm not keen on is 'Bonny Black Hare', but I'm not that fussed with Fairport's version either.

Grin   Grin Yep, when i saw him in London at Earls court in 1990's I had to leave before the end to get the train home. I was on front row too!

Yeah, he's playing those short sets now. When I saw him in the 1990s he did almost 5 hours.

Getting a train home from London was a royal pain. The concert was, however, brilliant.

Springsteen, at the Principality stadium in Cardiff on Sunday. My fourth time of seeing The Boss, and he didn't disappoint. Three hours of literally non stop music! How he can do this at his age I dont know! I was exhausted just watching him, and I was sitting down! His joy at playing is palpable and there were some very poignant moments relating to death of friends and family. Last man standing and the final solo acoustic number I'll See You in My Dreams.  The E Street Band were amazing Nils and Little Steven doing some great guitar playing. Along with backing singers and brass accompaniment, there must have been 20 or more people on the stage. "I saw rock and roll's future and its name is Bruce Springsteen." long may he rock!

No, not on the last tour either. It was sung in 2022 and in 2019 when Violeta was on violin as she helped with the high parts with Maddy singing harmony with her. Not sure if Athena is a singer. Maddy has not sung the verses on her own for a few years now.

This week's show features two tracks from Sarah Deere-Jones' album A Little Piece of Eden. I hadn't heard of her but she commented on a posting I made on X/Twitter and I checked out her album. If harp music is your bag, do check her out on Bandcamp. So along with her the playlist includes...

First Aid Kit, The Bad Shepherds, The Imagined Village, Martin Simpson, The Young 'Uns, Megson, The Levellers, Frank Turner, Honey and The Bear, Sandy Denny and Ralph McTell.

Tune in at 1pm or 8pm on https://www.internet-radio.com/station/gingerfeatherfm/

I saw Aerosmith twice, in 1989 and 1993.

We saw Aerosmith on their first visit to the UK. They played Reading Festival and were booed off the stage, with beer cans filled with urine being thrown at them.

1977 ?
That was a bad year for them at festivals all over the States too.
They were at the height of their substance abuse then. Only four years into their recording career, too. It took ten years to clean up and get back on track.

It was a GALLON container full of used beer that smacked me on the back of the head at Reading 87, also ten years later, that lead me to have a year off festivals in '88, try Glasto in '89 and '90, and wind up in Cropredy later in '90.

Funny how things work out.

It was indeed 1977.

The beer cans filled with urine included Party Sevens.

Unopened, then?  Wink

Reading 87 was good fun on the whole. 88 was a terrible, terrible festival.

My tall friend Simon and I used to stand back to back during the intervals between sets, so we could fend off projectiles at 80s festivals...
