Title: Inspiration in the oddest places
Post by: CarlWoodb on October 26, 2012, 07:08:08 PM
I know Ralph has been inspired by many orchestral pieces, obviously Schubert - The Trout and Grieg - Morning became the start of Barges.  While listening to Alan Titchmarsh on Classic FM last Sunday I heard a piece by Leon Jessel called Parade of the Tin Soldiers used in the 40's and 50's for Toytown on Children's hour on the BBC Home Service.  No I don't remember it but we have got a cassette recording of one 'Children's Hour'.  Anyway, 1 minute and 27 seconds into the parade and I suddenly found myself singing 'Holly the hedgehog'.

I  wonder if Toytown had somehow lodged in Ralph's brain only to reappear during Alphabet Zoo.

Any other tunes out there that have made their way into Ralph's material?
