Out of boredom, I was just looking through the Q&A section of RT's website, when I came across this...

Quote
I see that [cut] geeky question! Graeme Taylor

PS. After your Fairport reunion, Ashley is now trying to put together a 'Rise Up Like The Sun' Albion Band rematch...

I have a feeling this is the real Graeme Taylor, as I have just found this on his website...

Quote
I had a long, warm and friendly chat with Ashley Hutchings at the recent BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, regarding a reformation of The Albion Band as featured on the Rise Up Like The Sun album. This is now under discussion between the members of the original band.

I really do hope this goes ahead  Grin Grin Grin

Ooh, yes, that would be wonderful!  (Sadly, without Howard Evans, though.)
...and yes, yes, yes to a RULTS reunion as well.

Do you think RT would join in?  I can't see it myself.  But Ashley, Simon, DM, Tams et al would still be terrific.  Is Julie Covington still around?  I used to watch her on Rock Follies when I was a lad.

I don't think she sings nowadays.   Sad  By all accounts, she's seems pretty reclusive these days - more's the pity.  Even her official website ceased to be, some time ago.

I really love her singing... especially in Rock Follies.  First time I heard her was when I went on a school trip to see Godspell - many moons ago (as well as Julie, the cast at the time also included David Essex, Jeremy Irons and Marti Webb).

Her version of Only Women Bleed is one of my all time favourite singles. Did she take part in the recent live production of War Of The Worlds do we know?

Unfortunately, given her difficulties with live performance, I suspect that Linda Thompson may not be up for this either.

Just seen that that the Julie Covington album Julie Covington and Richard and Linda thompson First Light were "done at the same time, recorded together with the same band.Interesting....

Yeah, RT came to guest on Julie's record and was gelling so well with the rhythm section that the First Light sessions were soon booked.

What a coincidence... I picked up RULTS this morning to play in the car.  I would dearly love to see this line-up live, and a double bill with the Home Service would be just fantastic.

No. I can't remember who did, because my DVD is at home. Russell Watson played The Parson, originally done by Phil Lynott.

Doubt that RT will join. He has his own tour to do.  Wink
But I saw the RULTS- line up a couple of times in the late 70s and Graeme T. played in a way that left no wishes for another guitarist. I think he did a terrific job both on record and live but maybe his name isn't as wellknown as RT:s and Jerry D:s for example.

RT was never part of this line up, so why should he join in?  He wasn't even a guest guitarist on the album, just backing vocals on three tracks. Huh  Sorry, don't understand.

This is something I'd love to see  Smiley
RULTS is, in my opinion, one of the best albums ever  Smiley Smiley Indeed the album that started my current music interest going. Well cleaning out 15 Guinea Pigs to the backing of one album week after week, you kind of get addicted  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

seeing as how the rise up line up and the home service were more or less the same group with a brass section and a different bass player i would love to see them tour,it would be a must see for anyone with a passing interest in the rock we call folk
