Title: John Barleycorn - who sings lead?
Post by: RichardH on October 29, 2007, 02:08:02 PM
On the Tipplers Tales version, please? This I'm sure is an easy one for those who know but I can't make up my mind. Is it Swarb or is it the younger Simon influenced by Swarb?

Sounds like young Simon to me, you can hear Swarb singing in the chorus.  I do like this version, especially Swarbs fiddley bits in the middle, though it does seem strange to hear it without the enlongated last note ;D

Yes, I reckon it's Simon too.

Yeah, it's Simon. I'd like to hear them do it on this year's Wintour - an incentive for Simon to learn the words!  ;D ;)

Sadly I am old enough to remember the Tipplers Tales tour and am certain it was Simon.
