ooooo - didn't realise you had to to glittery to go to Brum now....

See how they change things when you're not looking

Yep - me and my other half are going -

Anyone who is researching places to stay can they please tell us about cheap places as well as the more glitzy - I'd prefer to spend my money on beer

Gotta be honest - I'll be looking for a smokey pub Wink

Ugh1 not that horrible smoky place! I was there for a photo assignment not long ago, and while the beer is good, the atm, osphere decidedly isn't.

I think folks met at the pub on the canal-side, out the back door of the Symphony hall, actually.

Could be the Prince of Wales. Could be the Tap and Spile.

The Tap & Spile has been suggested on the email list, but no one has yet responded...

Any more news on a pre-gig venue?

Due to an oversight on my part, I'll have to miss the Tewkesbury gig;  I can't get to the Leamington gig, so it looks like BSH for me - and it'll be good to meet up with you all (again).

Well, the List intends to meet from 17:30 in The Tap and Spile, Gas Street (off Broad Street near the canal, note no food), with a fall back should they still be closed to the Brasshouse on Broad Street. As I see List members less often than TAW members, I'll be there.

Just wandered over to Symphony Hall to buy tickets. Stalls virtually sold out. Back two rows of circle still available. Which means still quite a lot of room in the upper reaches. But still nearly a month to go.

Added value with Show of Hands I guess, plus all the 40th anniversary publicity.

Yup - that's the way I see it - sensible special guests in a venue bigger than the RAH, I believe.

Myself & daughter Leafbyniggle (Ed & Leafy/Elizabeth to some of you lot) are coming.

Tap & Spile still on? Will keep my eye to the screen.

4 or 5 of us were at previous Symphony Hall gig mentioned previously, and managed to go to the wrong boozer. Wetherspoons I think, anyway it was bl**din orrible as Swarb might say. We also went for lunch to another orrible pub on a sort of island in the middle of the canal opposite the Sea Life Centre and there was a bl**din orrible trad jazz band on. Thank God for the Fairports......

By the way, anybody going to see Richard Digance at Coal Aston Village Hall on 24th March? (promoter: Pete Gray, plug plug.) It's my birthday on the 25th and we're flying back from Portugal specially so I can be rude to Richard and blag free drinks.  Grin Cheers - Ed

I'll be there!

If the venue thingy falls through, we could always gather inside the Symphony Hall - there are plenty of cafes and bars.

And you never know - perhaps Show of Hands might busk in the foyer, again.  They did that at Swarbaid.
