Ugh1 not that horrible smoky place! I was there for a photo assignment not long ago, and while the beer is good, the atm,osphere decidedly isn't.
I think folks met at the pub on the canal-side, out the back door of the Symphony hall, actually.

Good grief, Chris - have you given up fags or just smoky venues? You're right - we met in the canal-side pub near a bridge leading to the Symphony Hall. Jude sat on my knee (there was no need, but I insisted) and yours truly sat on Nick's knee (there was no need, but I insisted). We shared a few platefuls of nosh, drank a selections of cordials, and waved to Mr. Leslie as he ran across the bridge to avoid someone or other. He may have been trying to avoid us, actually, but you'll be pleased to hear that he was suitably hooted and whistled at. |

Hurrah for people who know their way around central Brum and the Symphony Hall then I was at Swarbaid too, as it goes, but I hadn't met any Talkawhilers at that point.....but I digress. Chris, Sir Bob and whoever else knows about these things, can you please keep the rest of us informed of a suitable meeting place on this occasion? Thanks in anticipation  |

I remember being there too at that meeting .. Ces and Kath were there and MAJ and Puggs and me. I have a photo somewhere If I remember rightly a long lost cousin of mine was also there.. There was a previous meeting though at another big Brum gig.. that could have been the Wetherspoons. Then two years ago there was the meeting in the pub behind the Alexandra theatre... there were loads of us at that one. |
