Mike Pinder, the last surviving original Moody Blues member, 82

A sad loss. I regret not seeing the Moodies classic line up live; although they made some good stuff after Mike left, nothing matched up to their "core 7" albums.

Not a surprise he had been ill for several years, but a sad loss.

In the 90's Alias Ron Kavana were just about the most exciting act on the folk club scene. Almost joined the Pogues on more than one occasion apparently.

The '91 Cropredy was just about the perfect one for me.  I've seen lots of acts at Cropredy I enjoyed more but it held together really well over the day and half.  Really cohesive lineup (which must have cost about 2% of what the current ones do).  And that Fairport set was one for the ages.
