Devastated to have lost my stone bottle I've brought my toast contribution in for years.

Will have to bring something else to hold this years effort called "The Pink Stuff".

I was going to concoct some pink "Barbieheimer" in homage to the 2 recent film releases - looks pretty, causes atomic explosions later - but it looks like Trev's beaten me to it.

So, Plan B is being put into operation - it may well turn out to be dayglo orange, but should help with your five-a-day (fruit n veg intake, not trips to the Turdises!)

Possibly reasonably healthy, especially if it tastes foul...

Sounds like a Flaming Lips album title, Trev!

Nope, the "Orangey Boom" (  Wink ) is macerating away as I type...

OK ... The toast is too important a tradition to let slide away.

I've a couple of suggestions to hopefully ensure its continuation ;

One)...Pastie Boy gets elected as permanent toastmaster until he no longer wants it. He has the voice and personality and can by forgiven his Plymouth Argyll deviance.

Two)... Someone volunteers to get the shot glasses and is reimbursed from the proceeds as a legitimate expense.

Three)... Someone volunteers to be purser..Collecting the monies and making the donation to the charity.

I love the idea of the toast and really hope we can keep it as an important part of our Cropredy.

Agreed… far too important to let it fall away.

I already have the shot glassesand I don’t want compensation for them.

So Pastieboy…?

We have to toast our dear David Hughes don’t we 😥

See you NEXT WEEK!

I’m more than honoured to be Toastmaster but please never let it be said that I’m hogging the post . I won’t be offended if a usurper comes along or if I get sacked .
Truly honoured to be chosen to do it . See you there folks — dig deep for the charity please .

What time ?

I’m with trev from field 7 on time. 7:30 worked ok for last year.

This year I shall try to limit myself to a total amount that will permit seeing the rest of the evening 😁😁😁🤣🤣

If you don't have another volunteer I'm happy to be the collector, Trev!

Just seen this on "a first timers guide to Cropredy". A series of Q and A with the Band and Gareth.

Are there any special moments of tradition that people should look out for throughout the weekend?

Simon Nicol: The Talkawhilers hold a toast at the bar to commemorate and remember absent friends – but I’m afraid I can’t invite you.

There was one year when I slept through most of FC due to the effects of the toast. I think it may have been PastieBoy's herbal concoction that caused it.
It was jolly good stuff though :-)
