I had hoped for an acoustic tour souvenir or a new studio album, but... Lips Sealed

It mentions an instrumental cd. Is it new recordings or a compilation spanning years. Battle of the somme is one instrumental that I find amazing. Later songs like Cat on the mixer, innstuck, and Portmeirion are also amazing. I'm looking forward to it. Any idea of the live tracks?

They are all tracks that FC contributed to Alan Simon's Arthurian project.

Which by all means is an absolute great project and well worth to hear and (at least for part I) to watch, so I am really looking forward to this new `Fame and Glory".

Nevertheless I keep on waiting for that acoustic "Off The Desk II" - which was mentioned in the Cropredy programme. Just hope this did not fall through the cracks in the floor.

I believe (but I could be wrong) that OTD II would have been mentioned were it to have been realised as a project.  Undecided

The Cropredy CD would seem a more-than-able replacement, but I believe (but I could be wrong) that it will not ship until next year.  Undecided

Still, Percy, eh? Something to look forward to for my birthday!  Grin

The Alan Simon stuff is great. Well worth getting if you haven't heard it. I presume that there will not be anything on Fame & Glory that has not previously appeared on the trilogy of Excalibur albums (which I already have) but if you prefer the "rock" end of Fairport's brand of folk rock, you won't be disappointed.

The Cropredy set should be a corker too.

I wonder what the respective release dates are.

I am just making the assumption that the Cropredy CD will be available at the winter tour dates.

Didn't we think that about the Cropredy DVD?

The Cropredy DVD *was* available on the Wintour 08...

What am I getting it confused with, then?

Did we think it would be out for Christmas? Maybe that was it.

The newsletter suggests that both will be on the merch stand for the wintour. These are excellent news indeed-not one but two "new" albums to lap up! Hope they're both doubles. I must say I wasn't that excited about the prospect of OTD 2, being culled from the last acoustic tour(s) especially given the treats we've been offered over the last two electric wintours but the new Cropredy set sounds like it will be just the ticket. It'll be great to hear Battle of Evermore again-quite a coup really considering how sniffy Percy has been about the Zeppelin legacy of late. Hope we get a touch of Reynardine, too and I certainly echo Jen's wish for Cell Song. The Arthurian set sounds very good too-I must say this project has totally passed me by until now. Anyone got any additional ideas as to what we might expect with this one? I love a merch stand, me and although I will forever mourn the passing of the scanty panties, two new,not obvious, discs will certainly make the long winter pass a little quicker! Nice one lads.

How sniffy is that, then?  He's played a gig a year ago.  He plays led zep material every gig he does these days.  He just doesn't want to do a fullscale reunion.  Doesn't look very sniffy to me!

I'm with you on this one. In fact I didn't much like the first Off The Desk. It is a bit bland for my taste and is, I think, the only Fairport live set that has not found it's way on to my Ipod.
