Having seen that the Albion Christmas show is coming to Maidenhead on December 14th featuring the dulcet tones of Mr Nicol I immediately sent off for tickets. However, I noticed this morning on the 100 Club website that The Dylan Project (featuring the dulcet tones of Mr Nicol) are playing there at one and the same time. How does he do it?

Because he's no longer in the Dylan Project (although he - or the rest of the band - doesn't appear to be prepared to admit it publicly!)....  Wink

Well, just to be clear...it's not information gleaned with any knowledge other than the fact he no longer plays with them!

I'm sure he played with them last year....

Where there is a clash, Simon seems to elect to play with the Albions....but if there is no clash, I reckon he'll be out with the Dylans.

Simon was certainly playing with them at the Rhythm Festival in August last year. I saw it with my own two eyes.

Let's clear this up - apologies for allowing confusion to exist. The last three years has seen an overlap of the end of the annual Dylan Project tour and the Albion Christmas outing, to which I am more central and which has claimed priority: therefore Phil Bond was called upon to dep for me. It was clear from the outset that Phil's musical contribution was much more stylish and added far more to the musical palette than anything I could do, and the inevitable change-over began which means I am no longer a member of this occasional, but deeply enjoyable and worthwhile musical outing. Great music, great fun and great people - if you haven't caught them yet, do yourselves a favour and buy that ticket! I miss it, but that doesn't mean you have to. Wink

Brilliant!! Thanks for clearing that up Simon, I'll look forward to seeing you at Norden Farm. Last time I caught an Albion Christmas Show live was at Woolwich Tramshed back around 1988 or 89 I think so it's an experience long overdue for repeating.

Maybe someone could nudge the remaining Dylans in the direction of their website, which is a tad out of date; not just who the band members are, but gig dates as well.

Simon, if you want the Norden Farm audience to drop you a reminder a few days before the Albion Christmas show, let us know  Wink
