Did any of the longer serving members notice a "James P Denny" on the list. Otts is reading the board!

I've noticed Otts lurking for a few days now...

 Come back Otts...

Bob, Otts was a very regular TAWer here until a couple of years ago...

I think Otts got himself banned.....

I sit corrected, Simon - thanks! I was reliably informed that the primary signature on the nomination carried a lot more weight if he / she was a senior figure in the nominees field.....

No - just thought he might sign the petition, along with Patrick Spens

Can you send me some cheques please.  Grin

I would have thought MBE or OBE is more likely for Ashley than a Knighthood. How many other folk artists are knighted so far?

Sir Patrick Spens?

Didn't he get knighted for bonking the Queen being a very fine sailor?

Shirley Collins received an MBE/OBE in the New Year's Honours List.

I feel both Ashley and Swarb deserve some recognition.  Whether they regard a "gong" as suitable is up to them...

If you had enough money, you could buy Ashley a Lordship.

After all, Canuck media baron Conrad Black bought himself one.  Renounced his Canadian citizenship and all, to become Lord Black of Crosstemper er, ...harbour.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/black_conrad/

'Course, now that he's been indicted in the U.S. for embezzlement, he's whining for his Canadian citizenship back. And I expect ol' Liz'll have to rescind the honour if he's convicted.

Cheers, Hester
P.S. Was Otts the guy who said cheese too much?

With a little bit of time and effort, on his part, I could have Ashley knighted as a Templar at the local masonic hall in Bulls Gap, Tennessee, within about 4-6 weeks, providing he pays his fees on time!

Let me know if this is a direction we should pursue.

Affectionately,
