The album is much simpler than most of the recordings I have released. I was touring the UK recently and people were asking if the CDs I had available were like the performance they had just heard.

So here is a solo recording of twelve of those songs (10 new).

the St Agnes Fountain Christmas Single!

David Hughes has written a song for Christmas. He persuaded the band to record it with all their fantastic talents, but it couldn't possibly have gone on the new St Agnes Fountain album "Soal Cake". Why? It just doesn't fit! But, nevertheless, it's the greatest Christmas Single of ALL TIME!!!

During the summer of 2007, Dave Pegg asked David Hughes to write a song to celebrate his birthday.
He asked David to perform it at his birthday concert at Birmingham Town Hall on Saturday 3rd November.
He also told David he didn't want to hear the lyrics until the night of the performance.

David has recorded a version of the song on his houseboat. He was recording himself doing some backing vocals when Helen Watson walked past on the quay. He called her in and she spent five minutes in the wheelhouse and this is the result.
