A very warm welcome to you: you have arrived at TalkAwhile, the Folk Corporation Discussion Forum.

You are about to enter a community with a difference.
You will find a lively group of people who share an interest in one or all of the following: Fairport Convention; Ralph McTell; David Hughes; St. Agnes Fountain; Jacqui McShee and Pentangle; and The Cropredy Festival.

They discuss and exchange ideas; they make friends; they provide and receive information and news; they give their views and opinions; but most importantly, they have a lot of fun. You will find places to talk about other artists and to post reviews and recommendations.

And if that's not enough, you can sit in our very own members-only pub, the Corporation Arms, and talk about anything whatsoever, once you have registered as a member.

If you are a first-time visitor, then you may be wondering why a nineteenth century Prime Minister, grandee and elder statesman should be meeting and greeting you at the door. We haven't got the time to go into it. All will become clear, dear visitor, once you step inside this fine House.

So, come in, make yourself comfortable and lurk awhile. Get a feel of the place.
Read the Frequently Asked Questions and find your way around the Boards.
And if you are the person I think you are: someone with impeccable taste, good manners and a lover of fine music, then you have arrived at the right place.

About the Board

Guests can read the discussions but are unable to access a lot of the features. Members should first look at the Hot News Section at the very top of the page for announcements. Then look at the top right hand corner to see whether you have any messages waiting for you.

The rest of the screen is taken up with a list of the different Forum, together with a short explanation of what’s inside each one and who the Moderator is.

Further down the screen, you can opt to look at the 10 most recent posts; see who’s online; peruse the list of members and some interesting facts and figures about the Board in the Statistics section.

Ground Rules

It's nice to be nice. Speculate, comment, review, chat, whatever! You are allowed to be critical and negative, but you must never make personal comments about anybody. Abusive and offensive posts about people will be deleted and the writer will get thrown out without warning.

Don’t pick on people for their spelling, grammar or use of English. We prefer to hear what people say and are not bothered about how they say it.

There are places on the Board for all manner of discussion, banter and silliness. Respect other users who may be trying to follow a thread or get information, by keeping to the topic in the Artists’ Forum, however. We will delete off-topic posts that get in the way of the discussion in the Artists’ Forum.
